Rack Dryer Construction for Sardines in Gazi- JICA Project
Rack dryer construction for sardines in Gazi involved building an elevated, multi-level structure using treated wood or rust-resistant metal. Food-grade, UV-resistant mesh allows air circulation while keeping insects away. The design features spacing for airflow, easy access, and weather protection, such as transparent covers for rain and wind breakers. Adjustments for Gazi’s humid coastal climate, including seasonal airflow controls, improve drying efficiency. Regular maintenance, like cleaning and repairs, helps extend the dryer’s lifespan, enhancing sardine preservation and reducing spoilage.
